Mixed-use Building located in La Unió street, in Andorra la Vella, Andorra .
2-story basement for parking spaces in a narrow plot obliged to install a car lift. Ground and first levels comprise a retail space, and the upper floors are are residential.
Consultancy services were provided to lead the excavation approach/sequence and temporary retention schemes, as well as the Structural Engineering design.
Excavation was complicated due to the narrow space in between existing buildings. A contiguous micro-pile wall temporary anchored allowed the excavation and construction of the basement in a hit and miss sequence.
Composite columns were design to minimise the cross sections and maximise the parking bays size.
